Phase 1: Design Canvas
You create a scenario in Rogue Architect in two stages. First you build the network topology. Then you configure each machine with plugins, which define what gets installed and configured during the build.
The canvas is a drag-and-drop workspace. You drag items from the sidebar onto it, connect them, and change their settings in slide-out panels.
The Design Flow
Section titled “The Design Flow”It takes five steps to go from an empty canvas to a build you can launch. Click a step to read about it.
Create VLANs
Drop VLAN containers onto the canvas to define your network segments.
iiAdd Machines
Drag machine templates into VLANs to add virtual machines.
iiiAdd Plugins
Attach Ansible plugins to machines to define what gets installed.
ivConfigure Plugin Parameters
Set the required and optional parameters on each plugin.
vLaunch Your Build
Run pre-checks, configure build options, and start your build.
Collaboration
Section titled “Collaboration”Several people can work on the same canvas at once. You see their cursors in real time, and changes sync automatically over WebSocket.
