Agent MCP - Lab Building

The Rogue Arena MCP plugin lets your agent run Rogue Architect from start to finish. You describe the lab you want, and the agent does the canvas work: VLANs, machines, plugins, and Active Directory topologies.

This page covers the scenario-building skills included with the plugin. For the deployment skills, see Agent MCP - Active Deployments. For plugin authoring, see Agent MCP - Plugin Dev.

The recommended way to go from nothing to a staged scenario. This one command reads the design markdown in order (shape → cast → build → validate). After you confirm, it implements the canvas. It does not invoke other skills with Skill().

It also seeds realistic detail (user files, browser histories, mail, and file-share layouts) so the lab doesn’t feel like a sterile sandbox.

Once the build is staged, you run /architect-final-validate before you click Commit & Apply. That last skill is required.

Manual canvas work through the MCP tools, with no guided pipeline. Use it to add machines, swap plugins, connect VLANs, or adjust the configuration of an existing canvas. It works best when you know exactly what to change and want the agent to make the edits.

A read-only audit to run before you deploy. It walks every machine and plugin and checks plugin coupling, run order, infrastructure correctness, and realism. Run it right before you launch a build to catch problems a human reviewer would miss.

Investigates deployment failures: Ansible errors, plugin misconfigurations, and PowerShell debugging. It requires a deployment ID. Use it when a build has errored and you want the agent to work through the whole failure: pull the Ansible log, find the failing task, and propose a fix.

Your agent can help manage a canvas’s test builds, with or without a skill loaded. You need to own the canvas or have edit access to it.

  • architect_canvas_list finds your canvases. architect_canvas_issues lists the build and deploy failures recorded on the canvas.
  • architect_deployment_preview_redeploy shows the redeploy plan, such as Resume from checkpoint or Rebuild from scratch, so the agent can tell you what a redeploy would do.
  • architect_canvas_remove_build removes the canvas’s build, like the Remove Build button. It happens right away.

Start builds with Launch Build and redeploy with Redeploy Build on the canvas, or ask Rogue Oracle to do it. A build runs on real VMs and uses VM hours.
