Template Compatibility
Template compatibility controls which base VM images your plugin can be applied to. This prevents mismatches (like applying a Windows plugin to a Linux machine) and improves plugin discoverability.
Setting Compatible Templates
Section titled “Setting Compatible Templates”In the plugin editor’s Templates tab, toggle which base VM templates your plugin supports:
- Windows 10
- Windows 11
- Windows Server 2022
- Ubuntu
- Ubuntu GUI
- Debian
- Kali Linux
- VyOS
Select all templates your plugin has been tested on. The platform uses this information in two ways:
Why It Matters
Section titled “Why It Matters”For scenario architects: When browsing plugins in the Plugin Browser, they can filter by operating system. Only plugins compatible with their machine’s template will appear. If a plugin isn’t marked as compatible, it won’t show up.
For you: Setting compatibility correctly means your plugin reaches the right audience and doesn’t get applied to machines where it would fail.
